We have treasured his friendship of the years gone by

with his passing making both of us cry

For he was the man who matched us together

who stood by us in dark stormy weather

His smile was infectious and his humour robust

He’s now sitting in heaven as God is so just

Goodbye our friend we hate that you’ve left

We were privileged to know you and now are bereft
