1st anniversary

It has been a year, with you being gone
The heartache still fresh, as we soldier on
That day you left, the skies darkened hard
With a heavy heart, we watched you part

Tears of sadness still flow
What it meant to lose you, no one will ever know
Your absence continues to be the void that none can fill
No matter how long and far apart, we love you still

Within our hearts, you'll forever reside
As we go through life, comforted with thoughts of you by our side
The home feels strange without your presence, nothing seems the same
How we look forward to the day where we'll be together, once again
